Letters to Juliet

It’s freezinnng cold outside and if you’re like me you sometimes feel like staying in your pajamas and watching a movie. Yesterday was one of those nights and I decided I wanted to watch a romantic movie with gorgeous landscapes and where the action would take place in a foreign country. I then remembered one movie I saw some years ago and went with Letters to Juliet starring Amanda Seyfried. The story is about Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) who dreams of becoming a writer for the Newyorker and travels to Verona in Italy with her fiancé. In that beautiful city, she meets the “Secretaries of Juliet” which are women that answer the letters written by all the heartbroken women that visit the city and leave a letter on a special wall. That discovery will then lead her to an amazing journey with a woman looking for her long-lost soulmate and will make her discover what she really wants in life. It’s a feel good movie and the cities they travel too are really breathtaking.

In Time

A great action sci-fi thriller to rent on DVD? I trully recommend you to see the movie In Time. The director is Andrew Niccol. The story takes place in a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) finds himself accused of murder and on the run with a hostage (Amanda Seyfried), which is a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system. Injustice, the differences between rich and poor (people that have a lot of time and some that have a little), capitalism and social classes are important themes in this movie. Even though it’s a sci-fi movie, we can really relate to the story and it can make us reflect on many subjects that are very actual.

The actors are very good in this movie. Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake interpret well their roles.
