What should I wear?!

Yes, this is a question you probably ask yourself sometimes before going to a cocktail party, a family dinner or any other occasion. Sometimes it can be confusing to know what to wear and it can be hard to know what’s appropriate for the activity you’re planning on doing. Of course everybody has their own personal style, but here are some options I suggest for different occasion. It’s summer and that means a bunch of activities are at your door!

1. Pool party. With the beautiful and warm weather and a bunch of friends, a pool party is a fun way to enjoy summer. Put on that new bikini of yours (or a one-piece if you feel more comfortable) and cover up with a fun and simple dress. Big sunglasses and flip flops are a must! Try some trendy nail polish, like coral or teal!

2. Happy hour. Going for a drink with some colleagues after work or catching up with some friends during a 5 à 7? High waist shorts with a nice blouse, some low simple heels and jewellery are the key items to a sophisticated yet simple look, perfect to grab some drinks and maybe go for tapas afterwards, why not?

3. Family dinner. Grandparents, uncles, aunts or even a dinner with your boyfriend’s family? Go for something chic and traditional like a black a-line dress. Add a belt for some structure and beautiful dangling earrings and you’ll be feminine and classy.

4. Going to a festival. Summer is festival season! Grab your favorite pair of denim shorts, add a belt, a striped tee (go for blue and white stripes for a nautical vibe), a leather jacket (for those colder nights) and some edgy sandals and you’re ready to rock the streets! Don’t forget those retro sunglasses.

5. Club night with the girls. Ready to dance the night away? Forget the spandex and the too-tight dresses that are just so unflattering and uncomfortable! Show just enough skin with a back cut out dress that has patterns or bright colors. Go for a halter top dress or a criss-cross back, both will be sexy, but still classy. Nice reasonable height heels (you want to dance, remember?) and let your hair loose or try a very high ponytail tail!

I really hope you’ll enjoy every moment of this wonderful summer. Take every opportunity that passes next to you and see the people you love and admire. My last fashion advice would be to have fun with your outfits but remember to stay classy and respectful to yourself.

Denim looks

Dark jeans, black jeans, white jeans, gray jeans, pink jeans, skinny jeans, boot-cut jeans, jeggings, etc. Denim is everywhere for every style! This fall, you can’t go wrong with some pairs of denim pants. The only thing is you don’t want to look the same every day. Here is some inspiration for nice and different looks to try this fall!

Add a tribal print blazer to your dark jeans with some statement jewelry. Perfect for an interview or work!

Put on a delicate top with feminine flats with your skinny jeans. Great for a date with the girls!

Add a burgundy peplum top (this color is so in this fall!) with gray jeans, heels and a nice clutch. Perfect for your romantic date!

Add a simple V-neck and a large sweater on top with a big bag and boots. Great for walking around the city!

Jeans with a structured black bag, a hunter green blouse and sweater is a great outfit. (Hunter green is really in this season too) Nice for coffee with friends!

Add a big bag, a simple sweater and a coat with your jeans and boots (and an umbrella if it’s raining!) Perfect for a shopping day!

For mens, put on your jeans with layered shirts, sneakers and a cross-over bag. Perfect for the week-end!

Also, put on a nice dress shirt (burgundy is also in for men, why not?) with washed jeans. Great for a dinner with friends!

Enjoy your autumn 🙂 🙂 🙂

The Best Burgers in Montreal!

Do you sometimes crave for a very very good burger? In Montreal, I have two places in mind that offer burgers so good that you’ll dream about them!

1. Burger de Ville: There are two Burger de Ville in Montreal and I have tried both. First, you choose the base of your hamburger (cheese, bacon, bacon and cheese, etc.). Then, you select all the toppings you want to put inside your burger. You can put as many toppings as you like. There are no extra charge for all the toppings so you can try all sorts of things. For example, there are sauteed mushrooms, jalapenos peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, harissa sauce, caramelized onions and many others. You definitely need to put some harissa sauce inside, it makes your burger heavenly good! The meat is really tender and the bun is delicious. Plus, the poutine is awesome! Take one big poutine for a family and dig in!

Here are the two locations:

– 59 Westminster North (Montreal-West)  Phone: 514-564-9902

– 5282 Boul St-Laurent (Plateau Mont-Royal)  Phone: 514-507-5050

2. Five Guys Burgers and Fries: This restaurant is located in the Old Montreal. You can choose all the toppings you want in your burger for no extra charge. There are a little bit less toppings to choose from than Burger de Ville. The meat and the bun is great. You’ll need a big mouth because these burgers are huge. Try also the delicious fries. They are cooked in peanut-oil which makes them better for your health and they taste great. The decoration is cute. There are boxes of potatoes and peanuts everywhere.

Here is the location:

– 468 Rue McGill (Old Montreal)  Phone: 514-507-2560

Now… are you hungry? Well, go and have a delicious burger!
