Men: 10 things you should try

My guy friends are always simple and there to make me laugh even when I’m tired or sad. I’m really lucky to have them and in that gratitude moment, I’m going to share 10 fashion tips you boys, men, guys, whatever you want to call yourself, should follow to be even cuter and hotter…

1. Jeans shirt with a white tee. For a casual day at school or on the weekend, wear a jeans shirt with your sleeves rolled up a little bit and a white v-neck or round-neck (the one your prefer) under. It’s really hot, simple and versatile, so you can wear it a number of times. Button it half way or let it open for the best looks.

2. Robust boots. It’s winter and wearing your converse and snickers in the snow isn’t appropriate. Plus, when your feet are wet don’t tell me you’re comfortable! Put your feet into robust boots inspired by the construction or the military styles. It looks good and you won’t look like a fool with shoes in your feet during freezing weather.

3. Beige pants. For a more polished and preppy look, grab a pair of beige pants! It’s perfect for the spring season ahead and the color goes with absolutely everything. I’ve heard it’s more comfortable than wearing jeans, why not try it then?

4. Big watch. Men aren’t a lot into jewellery, but a nice big watch is a beautiful accessory that adds masculinity to an outfit. There are tons that have some gadgets and different settings, choose the one that you prefer!

5. Knit scarf. Since the weather is cold, show off you have style with a knit scarf in a vibrant color or a beige/gray color. It’s a very cute addition to your look!

6. Marine look.  Opt for the marine look, it’s so cute and fresh! Go with a blue and white striped tee or shirt, some loafers and you’re good to chill.

7. A sexy suit. Do you want to impress for a special occasion? A nice sexy suit will make you look handsome! Don’t forget to choose a suit that fits you and ask for help if you’re not sure.

8. Messenger bag. If you want to change from your usual backpack, go for a messenger bag. It’s smart, professional and stylish. Brown, tan, grey or black are neutral colors you should choose from so it can be a classic item in your wardrobe.

9. Grey sweater. There’s something about a grey v-neck sweater that’s just so simple yet so hot. Choose a comfortable fabric and you’ll love this basic shirt.

10. Smile. I know you want to seem like the tough big guy and that what I’m about to say  is really cheesy, but the best thing about a guy is when he smiles and that’s when you seem the most handsome possible. So go ahead and smile!

Hasta pronto!

My top 10 for the Holidays

Dear readers,

I’m back on sweetnstyle after a very long break from blogging! I’ve missed it a lot and I have plenty of new ideas for articles. I hope you’ll be reading and enjoying them!

To start the Holiday season right, I have made a top 10 list I want to accomplish this very merry season. Create your own or get inspired by mine!

1. Hot chocolate and reading. There’s nothing better during a cold snowy day than drinking a hot chocolate while reading an amazing novel surrounded by pillows and blankets.

2. Holiday shopping. While some people hate Christmas shopping (because of the oh-too-many people running around), I particularly like the ambiance of holiday shopping because of all the decorations, the Christmas music and do I need to mention the sales?

3. Cooking cookies and bouchées. Family cooking is one tradition I like to keep. Souvenirs are made while making chocolate chip cookies and delicious hors-d’oeuvres (olive tapenade roulés or cheese soufflés). And… cookie dough, yes two words are enough to convince you!

4. Walking in Montreal’s Old Port. During Christmas time, the Old Port is absolutely stunning with colorful lights, trees and all kinds of decorations. The art galleries, the churches, the fancy restaurants, the chic bars, the neighborhood contains a je ne sais quoi that is magical. Dress up warmly and go for a long walk.

5. Going out to new places. I want to discover new bars and clubs with my friends and celebrate the hard work we did this past year.

6. Melting pot with friends. This season, my friends and I want to make ourselves a supper at a friend’s house and everyone will contribute with a meal or something to drink. It’s a great way to share different meals and enjoy each other.

7. Go to the movie theater. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to the movie theater and it’s a great activity for cold days. My bestfriend and I  want to see About time featuring Rachel Mcadams.

8. Put on that party dress. It’s that time of year to dress up, accessorize and try new outfits to those awesome parties and family and friends gatherings!

9. Coffee with friends. Catch up on what’s going on in your friends’ life by grabbing a hot chocolate or a latte at a coffee shop. Plus, holiday season is the time to share and be grateful for everyone in our life.

10. Maybe not that fun, but cleaning… Yes it’s a new season and the end of 2013 so it’s time to go through my wardrobe and see what I can wear this season and what essentials I need to buy to pair with the items I already have. It’s also time to clean my desk, my room and to reorganize everything to start off 2014 on the right foot.

I’m glad to be back! Happy holidays! Joyeuses fêtes à tout le monde!

Hasta pronto!

Must do this summer!

SUMMER, ÉTÉ, VERANO… It’s the best season of all! Time to relax and do things you love and care about and catch up with friends and family. Like I did for spring, I’m doing a summer’s to-do list I’d like to accomplish during this summer and give you some ideas to help you enjoy every single bit of this warm and cheerful season.

1. Tea pop. David’s tea has a new way to drink your tea… with sparkling water! It gives you a fizzy tea refreshing for the warm days. I’ve tried one, but I want to try many more!

2. Tomatoes and bocconcini. This is probably one my very favorite appetizer or side dish. This italian combo is perfect for summer dinners with olive oil, balsamic vinaigre, salt and pepper. It’s light, savory and melts in your mouth.

3. Clean! Clean your room, your wardrobe, your house. Organize things, get rid of things you don’t want anymore and know what’s in your wardrobe before buying more stuff.

4. Listen to The Notebook. The Notebook is a romantic all time classic movie. I’ve never seen it but every one who saw it loves it so much. It’s been a while since I wanted to see it, but I’m decided that I will for sure see it this summer with a good friend of mine. Don’t you have a movie you just wanted to see for a long time? Grab a girlie and enjoy!

5. Pool and sangria. There’s nothing better than a day tanning at the pool and swimming while drinking homemade sangria. It just screams summer vacations!

6. Nail stickers. Nail art is a big thing right now and this summer I want to try nail stickers. You can have a combo of stickers and nail polish or go all the way with stickers.

7. The Great Gatsby. I’ve read this book in school and I still haven’t seen this movie with the incredible Leonardo DiCaprio. I can’t wait to see it! The decors, costumes and accessories are gorgeous!

8. Go to festivals. The jazz festival and the Just for laugh festival are coming and I’m planning on going to those events to make the most of this warm weather. During the day or at night, it’s always pleasant to come stroll around and look at the festivities.

9. I scream for ice cream. Miammmm I just love the excitement ice cream brings to people. Weather it’s a sundae, a banana split, a peanut and chocolate hard scoop of ice cream or some melty vanilla ice cream, just enjoy this summer treat that makes everyone happy.

10. Fashion find: flowy skirt. This is my hunt for this season. I want to find a nice delicate and chic skirt that makes me feel good and light. I’m looking for a longer length but I’m open to different styles. What’s your fashion find for this summer?

Enjoy this season! What’s your must dos this summer?

Hasta pronto!
